Hello and thank you for visiting Lavender Life Ceremonies, I do hope you find your visit worthwhile.

My name is Claire Richardson, an Independent Celebrant trained to the very highest standard by the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants (FOIC)

I am fortunate to be based in one of England’s most picturesque counties; Kent – the Garden of England. My work takes me all round this beautiful corner of the UK, from the stunning White Cliffs of Dover, through the Weald and far beyond. It is a joy to spend time in such glorious countryside and to visit so many of our wonderful historical towns and villages. With over 200 miles of Kent coastline I also try to grab every opportunity for a good invigorating  walk on the  beach.

Finding the right celebrant to work with is absolutely vital, a good celebrant is your voice, your spokesperson. They tell your guests the story you would like told, just how you wish to tell it. Therefore no matter where you are in the UK or overseas, if you feel I am the right celebrant for you – that  I can tell your story, or your loved one’s story, your way – then distance and geographical differences are absolutely no boundary.

I love what I do! It is very humbling to be invited into people’s personal lives at their most momentous, perhaps most raw and vulnerable, moments and truly a privilege being able to work with them to create just what they are looking for – a unique and lasting special memory. Whether it is a family suffering the devastating loss of a loved one and preparing to say goodbye, or a couple looking to create their most perfect wedding service, it is always an honour to be involved.

For several years I was a Samaritan listening volunteer and trainer. Although often very challenging, I found volunteering with the Samaritans hugely rewarding and learned the value of listening carefully is one of life’s great lessons. These words sum it up rather well…

“Speak in such a way that others love to listen to you – Listen in such way that others love to speak to you.”
